Great Lakes Lawyers is a young and dynamic Rwanda based Law Firm, formed in 2008 by a two partners, Me Olivier KILOHA (12 years of Law practice) and Me Raymond NDAMAGE (11 years of Law practice). Both of us are registered at Rwanda Bar Association, and are members of East Africa Law Society.
After years of individual experience, we choose to bring together our knowledge, experience and energy and we know we deliver best when working as a team rather than as individuals operating alone. Being a great colleague and working efficiently and effectively with our clients and other stakeholders around Great Lakes region and abroad, to achieve the right outcome is crucial to our success. Great Lakes Lawyers is a Law Firm which provide exceptional services to clients from Rwanda and abroad, in complex litigation, advice and consultancy services in different matters. The groundwork has been established legal work and client service.
Our headquarters’ office in Kigali - Rwanda is a hub for clients across the wider east and central Africa and the nerve center of our initiative.
Great Lakes Lawyers (GLL) principal goals are to provide the highest quality legal services available ; to be an instrumental part of each client’s success ; and to recruit, retain and advance the brightest legal talent. Our Firm seeks long-term, partnering relationships with clients, to the end of providing the best total solution to the client’s legal needs.
We act for all types of clients including individuals, African and international corporations, investors, Banks and other Financial institutions, development agencies and governments, domestics and International NGOs.
Working closely with many different types of organizations, from small and midsize companies to major groups, we are involved in all industries and cultivate long-lasting client relationships that thrive on our knowledge of local Rwandese markets.
We are committed to volunteer our time and services, for providing support to the communities where we do business by widening access to justice. We collaborate with Ministry of Justice, local NGOs and charities to deliver Rwandan community outreach and pro bono services, to those who are unable to afford lawyer’s fee.
At GLL, each lawyer has a target to contribute at least 60 hours of pro bono service per year. We strongly believe that this is the minimal financial contributions that Rwandan lawyers should aspire to make to organizations providing legal services to the poor and underserved. We encourages other’s Rwandan lawyers to aspire to provide such free legal services.
We set strategic community and Pro Bono objectives, which we report on annually as part of our Responsible Business.
